Last year Sumiton Christian finished fifth in Class 2A region 6 with a 2-4 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Since 2010, Sumiton Christian has gone a combined 23-36. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 38th in Class 1A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Sumiton Christian has managed to compile a record of 104-127. Their 45.0% winning percentage ranks 32nd in Class 1A and 235th in the AHSAA. The Eagles are led by head coach Bart Lockhart who is entering his first season at the helm. The Lions lost in the second round of the Class 1A playoffs to Berry Fayette by a score of 46-14. Sumiton Christian and Victory Christian have met a total of 6 times on the football field.
